The Beer, Wine, & Liquor Situation

Blairsville is dry. There is a state liquor store in Murphy called ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control) near the McDonald's in Murphy, but there is no beer sold in Murphy. In Blue Ridge, beer and wine are available at the Food Lion and the Ingles and at local outlets and gas stations within the city limits only. Ellijay is dry, but East Ellijay sells wine, beer, and liquor.

From Atlanta, located one block to the right at the first exit off 515 (Barrett Parkway) coming from 75. This is the last conveniently located warehouse outlet for beer, wine, and liquor for Atlanta folks headed to our area.

A mile or so south of the old square in Blairsville. Country hams, sausage, steaks, stew meat, beef roasts etc. This is my favorite butcher shop/meat market. It's owned by two brothers and they have a very friendly, accommodating staff. They do smoked turkey for the holidays, and they have recently added a bakery. I especially like their smoked pork chops.

A few miles north of the Blue Ridge McDonald's on Hwy 5. Apple outlet is famous for its baked goods, and carries some gourmet items. Also serves sandwiches. There is a speciality shop inside that carries Buckhead Beef and bacon from Benton Packing.
